IFA will open with a stunning line-up of stars from the international music scene. The band JULI will be the support act for the 27 year-old P!NK from the USA at her appearance in the Summer Garden at the foot of Berlin’s radio tower, the Funkturm. The organisers of the IFA have been able to sign up one of the most successful German acts, JULI alias Eva Briegel, Andreas Herde, Jonas Pfetzing, Simon Triebel and Marcel Römer, for their programme. Together with P!NK, JULI will be rocking the Summer Garden and providing an unforgettable show. JULI created a sensation with their debut album “Es ist Juli”, which remained in the charts for 74 weeks and went triple platinum, with sales exceeding 700,000.

But record sales alone are not enough for this band who, since the release of their debut recording two years ago, have become one of the most popular and most successful in Germany. They have won an arm of fans with such anthemic songs as “Perfekte Welle” and “Geile Zeit” and yet success has not changed them, despite numerous nominations for the main music prizes and sell-out concerts. As one of today’s top pop stars the performance by P!NK at the IFA Summer Garden Open Air 2007 will present her entire range of musical styles, from rock to up-tempo numbers and ballads.

The winners of the John Lennon Talent Award RADIOPILOT from Berlin will warm up the audience in preparation for these international stars. These lads from the capital will delight the audience with high quality pop songs, the charismatic appeal of vocalist Lukas Pizon and an entertaining stage show. Tickets for the IFA Summer Garden Open Air Concert, which is being promoted jointly with the Hamburg booking agency A.S.S. Concerts, are now available from all the usual outlets. An added attraction: the tickets, which cost 39 euros (plus advance booking fee), not only provide admission to the concert but also to the pyrotechnical display at the Funkturm, as well as including a day ticket for the IFA. This means that anyone attending the concert can also be there at the start of the IFA as well as experiencing all the latest developments in the consumer electronics sector during one of the following days (31 August to 5 September).

The IFA Summer Garden Open Air will be followed immediately by the traditional IFA Funkturm Fireworks. The display around this symbol of Berlin, which was erected 81 years ago, will take place to a synchronised musical accompaniment and will begin at 10.45 p.m. In addition to the opening concert, throughout the IFA (31 August - 5 September 2007) the Summer Garden will be the venue for a varied programme of entertainment with some well-known performers.
