The Nikon Coolpix Performance Series was designed with camera lovers in mind. The Nikon P50 camera is available both in basic black with a classic camera ‘look’ and in a silver finish. Features that make this a classic camera are the optical viewfinder, stable grip and a functional body design. The Nikon Coolpix P50 camera offers High-Sensitivity mode up to 2000 ISO, which automatically selects the optimal light sensitivity setting to further prevent blurred shots when shooting in lower light, or when capturing fast-moving subjects. The Nikon Coolpix P50 features a 3.6x Zoom-NIKKOR lens with 28mm wide-angle capability that covers a range from panoramic landscapes to close-up portraits.

With a focus on photographic performance, the new Nikon P50 camera blends orthodox camera styling with an advanced feature set and operating ease that conservative camera users can truly enjoy. Available on the Nikon Coolpix P50, Nikon’s face priority autofocus is faster than ever and can now detect up to 12 faces. It detects faces rapidly within the frames shot, measures the brightness of the person’s face and determines the best exposure. Nikon’s face-detection technology helps ensure that close up images of friends and family come out perfectly every time.

Consumers can choose the security of using the P or Programmed exposure mode, where the camera automatically chooses combination of aperture and shutter speed to assure optimal exposure, even if subject brightness changes. Or they can expand their creativity using M or Manual mode to choose their own aperture setting and the shutter speed to capture the image as they want it to look, with intentional under or over-exposure. Estimated street price for the Nikon Coolpix P50 is € 229.
