IFA 2010 Press - Fujifilm announces their latest Touch Screen sensation: the Fujifilm Z800EXR featuring a new second generation EXR sensor and Hybrid Auto Focus System. Hot on the heels of its multi-award winning predecessor, the stylish Fujifilm FinePix Z800EXR is set to hit the shelves this autumn. With its sleek design and advanced features including a large and intuitive 3.5” touch-screen LCD, internal Fujinon 5x zoom lens, 12 megapixel EXR sensor featuring the new Hybrid Auto Focus System and enhanced Dual Image Stabilization, the Fujifilm Z800EXR will produce high quality images. Key feature of this FinePix camera is the second generation EXR sensor with Phase Detection AF and advanced image quality.

Fujifilm Z800EXR includes a Phase Detection AF system
What can we say about EXR’s new Phase Detection auto focusing system? It’s quite unbelievable how immediate it is; 0.158 seconds! Phase detection AF works by dividing the incoming light into pairs of images and calculating the phase difference to check whether the object is in front focus or back focus position. The mechanism of the Fujifilm FinePix Z800EXR is same as that of external sensors on DSLRs and achieves an incredibly fast auto focus speed of 0.158 seconds. The benefit for the photographer is immediate and obvious: an almost instantaneous capture of your image, with no missed shots or subjects half out-of-frame.

Fujifilm FinePix Z800EXR offers two focusing systems
The new EXR sensor of the Fujifilm Z800EXR has the ability to intelligently decide between the two focusing systems on the camera using its Hybrid Auto Focus System to measure the amount of light and contrast in a scene and select the optimum setting: when a bright, high-contrast subject is positioned in the centre of the frame, super speedy Phase Detection AF focuses and takes the photo in 0.158 seconds which is about the same length of time it takes you to blink! In dark, low-light scenes, Contrast AF is employed to work accurately as it does in conventional digital cameras.

Increased picture quality with Fujifilm Z800EXR camera
Designed to emulate the human eye, the unique design of the EXR sensor enables the user to switch the behavior of the sensor according to the scene to the photographed. When the light is strong and even, the Fujifilm Z800EXR camera can be switched to HR (High Resolution) mode to ensure every small detail is recorded. When light is strong but contrasty, the sensor can switch to DR (Wide Dynamic Range) mode to get the optimal balance between highlight and shadows. Lastly, in low-light, the sensor will switch to SN (High Sensitivity and Low Noise) mode, to ensure you achieve clean, noise-free, pictures even in dark shooting conditions.

Update social media with Fujifilm FinePix Z800EXR web features
With its handy Facebook and YouTube easy-web upload feature, you can decide which pictures and movies you want to post on-line and mark them in-camera for upload. The next time you connect the Z800EXR to a computer, and launch the MyFinePix Studio software, your photos and movies will upload with a few seconds. A great time-saving device! Ever found that due to the volume of photos on your memory card, you can never quickly find the one photo you are looking for? Well, that problem’s been solved! Fujifilm’s Image Search tool on the Fujifilm Z800EXR allows you to locate photos quickly and easily; search by Date, by Scene Position (landscape, portrait etc), by Face, and even by your Favorites star rating. Genius!

Fujifilm Z800EXR makes Motion Panorama 360˚ shootings
A popular new technology that allows you to take “sweep panoramic shots” ever so easily. New to the EXR II sensor, you literally select “panorama mode”, press the shutter button, pan around and let go, that’s it! You’ll have a stunning 360˚ horizontal shot (shots can also be taken vertically if required). Your home will soon become a gallery of your own panoramic shots with gorgeous framed memories of romantic sunsets and faraway beaches. The Fujifilm FinePix Z800EXR is fitted with a class-leading flash control system that efficiently controls the flash power to produce beautifully balanced flash illumination across the foreground and background, even in macro mode. Gone are the ugly washed out shots where the subject is blasted with light and the background dark and under exposed. With the improved gyro stabilisation system, lower ISO settings can be used, meaning that slower shutter speeds give more balanced night portrait shoots, with smooth gradation and lower noise.
