IFA 2007 trade show
Five months ahead of the second annual IFA the world’s leading CE trade show is more popular than ever. IFA’s hosts, the industry association gfu and Messe Berlin, are convinced that the 2007 show will even exceed its high level of international exhibitor participation. Dr. Christian Göke, Chief Operating Officer, points out: “Preparations for IFA 2007 have been so successful that we are looking forward to one of the strongest IFAs ever .” Due to the early bookings and the presence of all leading CE companies, the show again underlines IFA´s significance for the entire CE industry. Popstar P!NK will rock the Summer Garden on 30 August 2007 to open the world’s largest CE tradeshow.

Jürgen Boyny, Division Manager of the leading European market research institute GfK, gave first-hand information about the positive market development of Consumer Electronics. “Today the world of Consumer Electronics is very much a digital one and a ´happy market´. Consumers will continuously ask for new products, but only innovative benefits for the consumers are able to push the market”, Boyny pointed out. “We are more than confident that IFA 2007 will continue its success as the leading trade show for Consumer Electronics on a global level. IFA will, once again, play its role as promoter for trade and industry alike, and as the major showcase where distributors can place their orders for the high season of business. We are certain that we can top off the volume of 2006 orders which came up to 2.5 billion Euros”, said Hans-Joachim Kamp, Member of the Supervisory Board of the gfu (Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik / Association for Consumer and Communications Electronics).
Messe Berlin - IFA 2007
To market all these new products adequately, a close partnership between the industry and qualified retailers is key. This is why IFA has created in a strong partnership with international buying groups. The host of IFA, the gfu and Messe Berlin, have drawn up strategic partnerships with the international buying groups Euronics International and expert during the last months. Positive talks with other trade organisations are in progress. The intentions of these partnerships are evident: to demonstrate the scope of the international consumer electronics industry to key retailers and buyers from all of Europe. The retailers and buyers will be provided with deep insights into the field of consumer electronics and into the strategic plannings of sales promotions in the corresponding European countries. Special programs set up by IFA and the buying groups will offer for their members package tours, guided visits to selected booths and attendance of special events. Euronics International and expert will be present at IFA with their own booths. Even the international trade visitors reception will be organised as team play between IFA and the buying groups.
Consumer Electronics trade show IFA 2007
The positive and fast development of the market is also reflected by IFA’s new market-driven product segments from 2007 onwards. As the CE industry’s international number one trade show, IFA works with a clear and market driven concept. Understanding the exhibitors’ and the retailers’ business models, IFA is focussing on the content-driven development of the CE industry. IFA´s organizers will especially focus on the segment “IFA Audio Entertainment”. Prominently placed close to the main entrance at the south of the exhibition site, audio products will be highlighted at IFA 2007. Dedicated PR activities will support the presentation of this innovative and important market segment. Entertainment and emotion will be key at the IFA opening event. American popstar P!NK will rock the Summer Garden under the historical Radio Tower on 30 August 2007 to open the world’s largest CE tradeshow. This IFA Summer Garden Open Air will be followed immediately by the traditional IFA Radio Tower Fireworks.
