Casio 60 fps Digital Camera Prototype

Casio announced that it is developing an entirely new digital camera with hitherto unseen high speed performance and image capture functions that make the most of its cutting-edge digital technologies. The revolutionary Casio 60 fps digicam of the future will be able to take still images at an astonishing shooting speed, to catch fast-moving subjects at the crucial moment. The Casio Hi-speed camera will also take movies that capture movement so fast that it cannot even be seen by the human eye. The first Casio high speed camera prototype was displayed at the IFA, a consumer electronics trade show, in Berlin, Germany, where our team is operating and working to cover the show live.

IFA 2007 Berlin sets records

With a rented area of around 104,000 square metres and record participation by 1,212 exhibitors from 32 countries the IFA 2007 begins on 31 August 2007 at the Berlin Funkturm. These figures confirm the ongoing success of the IFA on the second occasion since it became an annual event. IFA is also becoming increasingly important as a marketing instrument for companies in Asia and North America. “Foreign exhibitors account for more than 60 per cent of the total, a consequence of the efforts to give the IFA a more international dimension“, according to Dr. Rainer Hecker, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the IFA’s organisers Gesellschaft für Unterhaltungs- und Kommunikationselektronik (gfu).

Panasonic Lumix L10

Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm lens

Panasonic introduces a Leica D large-diameter telephoto zoom lens. The new Leica D Vario-Elmar 14-150mm F3.5-5.6 ASPH. Mega O.I.S., lens offers an exceptionally long zoom range of 14-150mm (35mm equivalent: 28-300mm) and complies with the Four Thirds System to assure wide compatibility with other camera models. It will be available in the market from around November 2007. The new lens provides a considerably longer telephoto range than the previously released Leica D Vario-Elmarit 14-50mm F2.8-3.5 ASPH. Mega O.I.S. lens, yet is just as compact and lightweight. This impressive downsizing is the result of incorporating four aspherical lenses in the unit.
