Hitachi Blu-Ray camcorder

With the introduction of not just one, but two versions of the world’s first Blu-ray disc camcorder, Hitachi continues its long-standing tradition of being first to market with landscape-changing consumer electronics products. The new Hitachi DZ-BD70A Blu-Ray camcorder is a single drive camcorder that can record approximately one hour of FullHD 1920x1080 high definition video on an 8cm single-sided Blu-ray disc (BD-R and BD-RE). Lifelike image reproduction and rich, immersive color are a result of Hitachi’s 5.3 mega pixel CMOS image sensor and HD quality 12-element lens system. Both Blu-Ray camcorders come with an Interactive Guide built-in so that people who have never used a camcorder can quickly begin.

The consumer trend toward large-screen, high-image-quality TVs is still growing, and broadcasters are increasingly switching to high definition. Video products are evolving along with this trend, moving toward high-definition. As a manufacturer of industry-leading video equipment, Panasonic is responding to emerging demand in the HD video era by introducing a new 3CCD full-HD camcorder, the Panasonic SX5. The Panasonic HDC-SX5 can record full-HD video with 1920 x 1080 pixels. The new Panasonic SX5 HD camcorder features Panasonic's original 3CCD camera system and Advanced O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), which let users record clear, beautiful, blur-free images with vibrant colour.

As a manufacturer of industry-leading video equipment, Panasonic is responding to emerging demand in the HD video era by introducing a new 3CCD full-HD camcorder, the Panasonic SD5. The Panasonic HDC-SD5 can record full-HD video with 1920 x 1080 pixels. The Panasonic HDC-SD5, which records on SDHC/SD flash memory cards, is even smaller than its predecessor model, Panasonic's SD1. In fact, the Panasonic SD5 debuts as the world's smallest and lightest 3CCD full-HD camcorder.

Panasonic AG-HPX500 P2 broadcast HD camcorder

Panasonic introduced the AG-HPX500, a P2 HD camcorder that teams the full production-quality of 2/3” 3-CCDs, DVCPRO HD, 4:2:2 sampling and independent frame encoding with the versatility of interchangeable lenses and the creativity of variable frame rates. Offering the highly popular features of the AG-HVX200 P2 HD hand-held camcorder but with many new enhancements, the 8.2-pound AG-HPX500 features progressive 2/3” 3-CCDs that provide a larger light receiving area resulting in increased resolution, superb low-light performance and wide dynamic range. The AG-HPX500 will be available in May 2007 at a suggested list price of $14,000 including a 5-year limited warranty program.

Where High Definition tribute in the consumer segment of camcorders, 3D is today’s hottest feature. Expect multiple manufacturers showcasing their latest camcorders with at least some 3D HD camcorders from the camcorder specialists. 3D is the motor that could cause a boost within the home entertainment industry. Good solid content is a key issue, the hardware is already there. The International Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin will be the place where videographers, professionals and amateurs can get their hands on the latest camcorders. They all have at least one thing in common; storage. Flash memory storage became the number one storage solution for camcorders.
