Ricoh Caplio R7

Ricoh has developed and introduced the Ricoh Caplio R7 digital camera. With a new image processing engine and a 7.1x optical wide zoom lens (28-200 mm in 35 mm camera format) mounted on a slim body only 20.6 mm at its thinnest point, the Ricoh Caplio R7 takes photography to an even higher level of image quality. The new Ricoh Caplio R7 is the successor to the Caplio R6, which earned high recognition for its slim body, wide-angle zoom lens, vibration correction, and face recognition mode. The Ricoh Caplio R7 further enhances the line’s established reputation for high image quality with the introduction of: Smooth Imaging Engine III, a new image processing engine capable of even more sophisticated image processing.

Casio Exilim EX-V8

Casio proudly releases its new Exilim EX-V8 digital camera. The Casio Exilim EX-V8 features a slim yet powerful optical zoom like other models in the Exilim Hi-Zoom series. The Casio EX-V8 delivers 8.1 effective megapixels in a shape slim and compact enough to fit in the palm of the hand, and features a 7x optical inner zoom lens designed for quiet operation. Thanks to the Exilim Engine 2.0 image processing module the Casio Exilim V8 camera can offer four blur reduction technologies, including a CCD-shift image stabilization mechanism, and it sets the most appropriate ISO sensitivity and shutter speed. The Casio Exilim Z1080 is the latest addition to the core Exilim Zoom series and packs an outstanding range of functions into a compact size. Nikon Scene Recognition System

Nikon announces the introduction of their new Scene Recognition System, which recognizes a subject or scene prior to capture, then, using information from the 1,005-pixel RGB sensor, that enables highly precise exposure control utilizing color information, applies that information to achieve more accurate autofocus, auto exposure and auto white balance control. The Scene Recognition System is an epoch-making function realized through the improvement of image recognition capability of the 1,005-pixel RGB sensor by employing the diffraction grating for it. This greatly increases the precision of the information to be utilized in auto exposure and auto white balance, as well as in autofocus.

Nikon EXPEED

As Nikon’s new digital image-processing concept - featuring the core ideas of our image creation and processing - EXPEED incorporates the optimized knowhow and technologies we have accumulated throughout our long history and in the course of our transition from film to digital cameras (starting with the D1). It’s a system that embodies Nikon's intense passion for digital images. Unlike image-processing engines or systems, EXPEED does not deal with specific parts or features.

Kodak EasyShare V1253

Right before the IFA 2007 show in Berlin begins another compact camera makes it appearance in the good old Google search engine. Although the camera is not confirmed by Kodak we may assume that the Kodak EasyShare V1253 will be introduced very soon. The Kodak V1253 camera offer 12 Megapixels resolution and is capable of shooting pictures at up to 4,000x3000 pixels. And like the new EasyShare Z812 IS the Kodak EasyShare V1253 is able to shoot video at up to 720p resolution; high definition is the key feature. The back of the camera shows a large LCD 16:9 high resolution indoor/outdoor 3.1-inch widescreen color display offering good brightness and clarity, even in direct sunlight.

Kodak EasyShare Z812 IS

Thanks to Jeff Keller from DCResource for spotting this news, we are able to inform you about a new upcoming Kodak EasyShare camera; the Kodak EasyShare Z812 IS Megazoom camera. Although the information is not official yet, thanks to Google’s cache there are some Kodak information pages available with the following specifications. The Kodak Z812 IS features a 12x Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon optical zoom lens with optical image stabilization and 8.2 Megapixel resolution. High Definition is the latest hot feature, at least according to those camera manufacturers who offer HD on its camera series, and we notice that the Kodak EasyShare Z812 IS also offers HD quality photos and 720p (30 fps) video.

In the period before, during and just after the IFA 2007 event a lot of interesting digital cameras are introduced and will be introduced. Among them are digital SLR cameras, a product that has become very popular among the digital camera users. The IFA 2007 consumer electronics trade show is a great time to showcase the new cameras and its innovations. Though the camera is a product that has been around for a while, this product is still evoluting and incorporated high-end techniques. This year we have seen an upgrade in resolution in the compact camera segment with a maximum, for now, of an impressive 12 Megapixels.
