Fujifilm was the first to introduce digital cameras with hardware-based Face Detection technology when the FinePix S6500fd was launched in July 2006. Because the technology was built-in to the camera’s processor, it was the world’s fastest, capturing faces in as little as 0.05 seconds. Face Detection has been popular among consumers and is now also available in the Fujifilm FinePix F31fd and FinePix Z5fd. Fujifilm adds the Fujifilm F47fd to its digital compact camera assortment.
