Music of the finest quality can be heard at the IFA: All the electronics needed to produce high quality sound can regularly be found there. The IFA section Audio Entertainment occupies a prominent place - in Halls 1.2., 2.2 and 3.2., right at the main entrance to the Messe Berlin grounds. It features all the top names in the world of sound, from the manufacturers of the latest hi fi and home cinema components to suppliers of equipment for mobile entertainment, and those manufacturers who produce real high end works of art in small quantities, thereby pushing the boundaries of what is feasible a little further each year. A visit to the IFA Berlin 2007 is essential for all home cinema enthusiasts.

IFA audio entertainment

The best images deserve the best sound too - which is why the IFA 2007 is also focusing in particular on the traditional section of “IFA Audio Entertainment”. In addition to numerous sound installations on the Exhibition Grounds and in Berlin, the subject of Audio will also be supplemented by panel discussions on all aspects and sound and how it is heard. Sound installations are being planned in Berlin to acquaint visitors more closely with the subject of listening during the IFA 2007. Placed at central locations, these “Soundscapes” will be producing some unusual noises and sounds such as horses’ hooves, rushing water and announcements in the underground, to attract attention and arouse interest.

This virtual Photo Gallery is the first of its kind to offer space for passionate Pentax photographers to exhibit their work, share and gain resources within an artistic community, create an online portfolio, and more. “For decades, Pentax collected the best images captured with our cameras and published the work annually in an historical, coffee table-type, book collection,” said Ned Bunnell, Vice President Marketing, Pentax Imaging Company.

iPhone to change Smartphone market?

Estimates of Apple iPhone shipment volumes in the first weekend they were available have ranged from 140 thousand units to 500 thousand iPhone units depending upon who was asked. Meanwhile, ABI Research forecasts that the smartphone market segment will grow from 218 million units in 2007 to 426 million units in 2012. Now that we have a little distance from the launch, it’s time to ask: “Will the Apple iPhone change the smartphone market?” According to Stuart Carlaw, wireless research director at ABI Research, the answer is a qualified - Yes. “The Apple iPhone will not revolutionize the smartphone market,” he says, “but it is a significant evolutionary step forward.

IPTV at IFA Berlin 2007

With the increasing pace of digi-talization of television transmission a new acronym has emerged: IPTV, which stands for “television on the basis of the internet protocol”. This refers to new kinds of television services which permit genuine interactivity, in other words not simply the capability for zapping through all the channels but also video on demand and individual access to all kinds of information and entertainment programmes. In this way television is expanding beyond the structures typically associated with it today: Viewers are no longer restricted solely to a time sequence stipulated by the programme schedules. IFA 2007 trade show

Five months ahead of the second annual IFA the world’s leading CE trade show is more popular than ever. IFA’s hosts, the industry association gfu and Messe Berlin, are convinced that the 2007 show will even exceed its high level of international exhibitor participation.
