Only two inches long, a half-inch thick and weighing less than half an ounce, the 8GB Cruzer Micro nonetheless can hold a massive personal library - 1,600 ultra-high-resolution digital pictures, 2,000 digital songs or five hours of high-quality home video. Cruzer Micro 8GB is expected to be available worldwide in mid-September with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price in the United States of $129.99. SanDisk Extreme Ducati USB flash drive

Posted by: Ralf Jurrien Thursday 19th, July 2007

SanDisk rolled out the SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition USB Flash Drive. A tribute to Ducati’s distinctive Italian design and engineering, the new drive has the same glossy red chassis and black trim as the Ducati Corse team motorcycles now racking up victories on the MotoGP circuit. The true “Ducatisti,” as aficionados of Ducati motorcycles call themselves, will appreciate the attention to detail in the SanDisk Extreme Ducati Edition USB Drive, including the Ducati Corse logo on top of the drive and the red tail light that illuminates whenever the drive is inserted into the USB port of a computer. It is expected to be available in North America and Europe in August, and worldwide in September.

It was only some years ago that we all shake our heads with the introduction of a ‘high capacity’ card like the 1GB flash memory card. Today we have reach the point that 16GB has become reality and even 32MB storage capacity is waiting around the corner. New flash memory card formats, greater transfer speeds and higher storage capacities are key details that also changes the storage media for a digital camcorder. More and more camcorders begin to use the SD format card to store their digital movies; who could have thought of that ten years ago? But it is not only flash memory that will be showcased at the IFA 2007; think of HD-Video, Blu-Ray and high-end hard drives. Like we have said last year; 2007 is an interesting year for the storage market!
